Celebrate the French culture as we gather at La Fête du Beaujolais Nouveau to enjoy wonderful wine, food and music — une tradition bien française. We will honor the victims of the tragic attacks in Paris by observing a minute of silence at the event. La Fête du Beaujolais Nouveau, held from 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 21 at Silverado Design Center, 5250 South Watt Ave., celebrates the release of this young, fruity,  refreshing wine. The evening will feature two varieties of Beaujolais Nouveau, an hors d’oeuvre and dessert buffet, live French music, a silent auction and a raffle. Premium French wine from the France’s Beaujolais region will be available for purchase. (photo by Pico van Houtryve) La Fête du Beaujolais Nouveau is a fundraiser for the Alliance Française de Sacramento, a local nonprofit organization whose mission is to promote the French language and culture. Portions of the funds raised will be used to renovate the our new center in the E. Claire Raley Studios for the Performing Arts. The Alliance, part of an international network of more than 1,100 chapters, offers French language courses for adults and children as well as a variety of French cultural events throughout the year.
